2021 British Grand Prix Results and Standings

Monster Energy Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo has further solidified his position at the top of the MotoGP championship standings with a dominant victory at the 2021 British Grand Prix. The Frenchman secured his fifth win of the season at Silverstone, extending his lead over Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia to 65 points.

Race Results

Quartararo led from start to finish, crossing the line 1.3 seconds ahead of second-placed Aleix Espargaro of Aprilia. Bagnaia finished third, followed by Johann Zarco of Pramac Ducati and Jack Miller of Ducati. Reigning world champion Joan Mir of Suzuki crashed out of the race on the opening lap.

Championship Standings

Quartararo's victory sees him extend his lead in the championship standings to 182 points. Bagnaia remains in second place with 117 points, while Mir has dropped to third with 108 points. Espargaro and Zarco round out the top five with 108 and 84 points, respectively.

Race Summary

Quartararo made a blistering start from pole position and quickly established a comfortable lead over the chasing pack. By the end of the opening lap, the Frenchman had built a gap of over two seconds to Espargaro. Bagnaia struggled to keep up with the pace of the leaders and dropped to third.
